Our DE45 Differential pressure switch/transmitter is one of the very popular products. With the growing demand for functional safety in process instrumentation, our DE45 can now offer differential pressure for SIL 1 and SIL 2 applications.

The DE45 is a  multi-functional switching unit with an optional transmitter output. The optional output can be dampened, spread, inverted and transformed via a table function even if not linear! Suitable for measuring overpressure, under pressure and differential pressure in gaseous media, the DE45 can be used for various applications such as

  • Monitoring of roll filters, extraction systems, etc.
  • Draft measurement in chimneys
  • Flow and control pressure measurements
  • Surface coating systems

FISCHER – FT61 – Temperature and Humidity Sensor

FISCHER FT61 New long-term stable temperature and humidity sensor with LCD for non-aggressive gaseous media

The digital humidity and temperature device is ideally suited for measuring moisture and temperature of non-aggressive gaseous media. For the monitoring process, the sensor unit can be used separately or integrated in a clean room panel.

The measuring device comprises a display unit and a sensor, which transfers the measured data via I²C bus to the display. Both units can be displayed at the same time or alternatively. The measuring ranges for humidity are between 0…100 % r.F ± 3 % and for temperature between: -40…100°C, ± 0.5°C.

The standard signals 0…10 V, 0… 20 mA und 4…20 mA are available for the analogue outputs.

Function
The differential pressure switch is build
around a rugged, reliable membrane sensing
system.
It is suitable to detect vacuum, over pressure
and differential pressure.
In every application the switch is working on
the same principle. The pressure or differential
pressure to be measured generates a force
on the membrane. This force moves the
membrane in one direction against the
measuring range spring. A plunger fitted to
the membrane operates a microswitch when
attempting the adjusted switch point.
The switch point is adjusted by means of an
indicating dial.

Design and mode of operation
The device is based on an electronic evaluation circuit that analyses the measuring signals P+ and P- of two integrated ceramic pressure transmitters. The signals are digitalised and sent to the analysis unit for further processing. Both signals can be shown separately.
The main feature is the calculation of the differential pressure. The analysis allows two independent switch points to be set and makes two programmable output signals available. The first output signal (channel 1) is proportional to the differential pres-sure and can be influenced by means of rooting or a table. The second output signal (channel 2) is proportional to the pressure and can be assigned optionally to the signal P+ or P-.
The nominal pressures of the integrated sensors and the differential pressure measuring range are set permanently ex-works and stated on the  type plate.

Design and Principle of Operation
This measuring probe is designed around a highly sensitive pressure sensor with a silicon membrane-measuring element.
A DMS resistance bridge is attached to the rear of this membrane using a thin-film method. The well probe is equipped with an indirect hydraulic pressure sensor in order to guarantee the system-inherent dead space latitude. The pressure sensor is isolated by an elastic membrane from the medium to be measured. The volume between the membrane and the pressure sensor is filled completely with a transfer fluid. When pressure is applied this silicon membrane deforms in the elastic region, altering the resistance of the resistance bridge in a response linear to the measuring pressure. These changes in resistance are converted by electronics built into the device into standardized electrical signals.

The NC57 is ideally suited only for metal tanks, however can be used on non-metal tanks by adding an extra “earth rod”
